Shaving Brush
for Good Thing & Harry’s

2017

Designed in collaboration with Joseph Guerra.

For an exhibition entitled A Brush With Design, Good Thing and Harry’s commissioned designers to revisit the archetypal shaving brush.

Honoring both the ceremonial and cleansing elements of shaving, the Shaving Brush reflects this ritual in its sculptural and ergonomic qualities. The brush is informed by soft utility with a rounded shape that considers both the human hand and the peaceful nature of the ritual. The shape of the brush is married into the base, which doubles as a bowl for shaving cream. While the forms recall everyday objects like the light bulb, which requires a similar hand motion, they also recall river stones: cleansed and washed smooth.
