Shaving Brush
for Good Thing & Harry’s
For an exhibition entitled A Brush With Design, Good Thing and Harry’s commissioned designers to revisit the archetypal shaving brush. Acknowledging the act of shaving as both ceremonial and cleansing, we sought to explore forms that reflected this ritual in their sculptural and ergonomic qualities. The shape of the brush is married into the base, which doubles as a bowl for shaving cream. While the forms recall everyday objects like the light bulb, which requires a similar hand motion, they also recall river stones: cleansed and washed smooth.
